BOTIX – 8th & 9th May – Robotics Workshop

BOTIX – An Introductory Robotics Workshop

BOTIX is a 2 day hands-on workshop that focuses on introducing participants to the world of robotics. Split over 4 sessions participants are introduced to various concepts of robotics in each session and practically implement these concepts towards the end of each session. The sessions are designed to be concise to give participants more time for practical implementation. During the course of the workshop participants learn to build different types of robots including line following bots, obstacle avoiding bots & edge avoiding bots.

WORKSHOP ON INDIAN NANO ELECTRONIC USER PROGRAM AT IIT-B

http://www.inup-iitb.org/images/logo2.jpg

A series of workshops and hands-on training sessions are planned as part of the INUP program. The workshops are targeted to achieve the following:

1. Familiarization of Indian researchers with the broad area of nanoelectronics.

2. Familiarization of potential users of the INUP program with the nanoelectronics infrastructure and researchers at IIT Bombay and IISc Bangalore.

3. A platform to present the outcome of the program to nanoelectronics researchers from India.

4. To help the nanoelectronics researchers in India identify complementary expertise within the broad area of nanoelectronics.

First in the series of workshops on “Nano-Fabrication Technologies” would be held at IISc Bangalore during 23-24 of March 2009. More details about the first workshop can be obtained from Prof. K. J. Vinoy, IISc Bangalore (inup@ece.iisc.ernet.in).

The second workshop would be held at IIT Bombay during 30-31 May 2009. The details of the same are given below.

Workshop Agenda:

Presentation on the INUP and R & D infrastructure available under INUP

Lectures in the broad areas of Nanoelectronics

Poster presentations demonstrating R&D work undertaken at the Centre

Visit to the various laboratories

Panel discussion on challenges and opportunities in Nanoelectronics

Who can attend:

Any Indian researcher interested to start research and development work in the area of nanoelectronics is welcome to attend. You could be affiliated to academia, research labs or industry, and these institutions could be in the Government, public or private sector. Registration is mandatory and is free of cost.

Accommodation:

Limited on-campus accommodation will be provided on request from participants, subject to availability.

Financial support:

A limited financial support package is available to select candidates from academia. The selection would be based on your preparedness to be a potential user of the nanoelectronics facility under the INUP program. It is important for you to fill in a summary of your proposed work (maximum 200 words) during the on-line registration. The package would include travel support and accommodation. The terms of support are as follows:

1. Students would be supported for travel (by train, 3-tier A/C) and stay (hostel room plus food).

2. Faculty members would be supported for travel (by train, II A/C) and stay (at IITB guest house or equivalent).

Registration:

For online registration to attend the workshop, please follow the link

Online Registration

Important dates:

Registration deadline: 15th April, 2009

Confirmation of Financial Support, if awarded: 20th April, 2009

Workshop dates: 30-31 May 2009

Workshop Flyer:

2nd INUP Workshop on Nanofabrication Technologies

Associated Events:

2nd International Workshop on Electron Devices and Semiconductor Technology (IEDST 2009) would be held at IIT Bombay during 1-2 June 2009. We encourage you to attend both the INUP workshop and the IEDST conference. More details about IEDST 2009 can be found at

Indian Nanoelectronics Users Program (INUP)

Indian Nanoelectronics Users Program (INUP) is a unique activity jointly run by the Centers of Excellence in Nanoelectronics at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISc) and the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB). It is an initiative to create and spread the expertise of Nanoelectronics in the country. INUP serves as a platform for the researchers in Nanoelectronics to come together and benefit from complementary expertise.

The main aim of INUP is to provide hands-on training in Nanoelectronics to researchers from other institutions in the country and assist in the initiation of research in Nanoelectronics by enabling the execution of the work of the external users at INUP at IITB/IISc.

INUP is supported by Ministry of Communications & Information Technology (MCIT), Government of India.
